Hotter 'n' hell down there in West Virginia. Mountwood has beautiful single track with seemingly endless climbing. In years prior to the Challenge at Mountwood it poured rain during the race, rendering the trail a sloppy, muddy mess; this year was drastically different. Dry, tacky in some spots, but fast. Just after noon the Sport race took off with over 90(!!) riders sprinting for the hole shot; luckily I got it. Led some dudes up the first climb, hit the redzone and reeled it in. Spent the rest of the day in what most consider the "paincave" and couldn't handle my bike to save my life. Fortunately I had decent legs to climb and gain some spots back. Ended with pizza and beer, just the way I like it. Cheers to OMBC/WVMBA for a great venue and great race.
