According to my Garmin it was a 23.6 mile loop. A challenging course with one small quad biting climb and then a series of rollers from mile 13-22 that really wore you down.
Race #1 Masters 50-54 - Took the pace out hard over the first half utilizing a small tailwind and slowly watched my avg speed decline as I hit the rollers and the headwind. Finished averaging 25.5 for the race for 2nd place.
Race #2 Cat 4 - Climbed back into the start gate about 40 minutes after finished the Masters race. Went out a little easier. The wind felt like it was hitting you from all directions. Not real strong, just mildly annoying. At mile 6, I was hoping for a flat so I could call it a day. But by the halfway point it was easier to just enter the hurt locker and gut it out. The rollers really took their toll the second time around. Finished with an average speed of 24.8 and 3rd place.
