For some reason this year it just seems like everything has scheduling conflicts, this was no different. After getting snowed out in the spring edition, I figured we wouldn't have much change of that in June. It was a pretty good day weatherwise in Erie (those of you who know Erie, know you don't get many good days).
Felt pretty confident after Saturday's trial runs. I'm not going to say I didn't have it but there was definitly a very stiff wind on the first half of the course. I was able to pick up the pace slightly on the second half. After finishing in just barely under 30 minutes (same time as last year), I heard from several people that times were 20-30 seconds slow for most people today. So I took some consolation in that I had probably improved. Being 40 pounds lighter then this race last year I guess I had just expected more.
